Theres lots of history with me and running. Before college I used to play on a soccer team and in college I had a group of friends that were always pushing themselves to be better and faster. At the time, I just wanted to fit in with them, so I figured there’s no harm in participating and possibly getting a little bit healthier in the long term.

About 2 years ago, I came across another group of single friends who were on the path to becoming healthier. Once again, I stuck with them and ran every race I could. I still remember the most brutal of these was the Engineers Frostbite 5k through the hills of Athens, OH in February. It was probably the toughest of all the races I ran, but when we finished it was also one of the most rewarding. Not because of the free tshirt at the end of the race, but it was that feeling of accomplishment combined with the adrenaline and endorphins pumping through my veins.

Now, as I feel the surge through my body to want to continue running, it seems like I am needing to look for a new group of friends to run with, which is why I am glad that I have no hangups about meeting new people all the time. Because of my job, I missed the Dublin Irish Festival 5k Pub Run, but I went to the finish line any way and met a great group of people who were wearing shirts from the race. I soon found out that this group helped sponsor through ColumbusRunning in Dublin/Hilliard.

We had a few drinks, and I found out that they also started the Cbus Pacers, a club that meets every Saturday at 10am at the ColumbusRunning store. 10am on Saturday only seems to come so early because of the desire to stay out late Friday night, but I am determined to meet up with this group soon to run with them! In the mean time, I will have to continue checking out Ohio Runner to find other local races for good causes. Its time to get people together, get healthy, and have fun!

I love taking photos and capturing moments wherever I go. Thank goodness cellphone cameras are getting better and better all the time for those random moments that cannot be prepared for, although its never a good substitute for my DSLR.

I bought my Canon Rebel XS about 18 months ago when my neice Natalie and nephew Ben were about to be born and my second brother to be married, Steve, was about to have his wedding.

Before I get off on a tangent about how awesome it had been, I am getting ready to do Ben’s 1 year old photos this Friday. I can hardly believe a year has already passed. With Ben, the last pics I took were for Christmas when he was only a few months old. Now it should hopefully be a lot easier to get some expression out of him, but I still need to figure out some fun poses with him plus mom and dad.

I love photography, and don’t mind doing it for free for my close friends while I’m still learning how to do it effectively. I definitely owe some thanks to my friends who helped get me started on it, as I moved from just having ‘a cool toy’ to actually using some of the more advanced features that helped my pictures pop out a bit more.

Keep an eye out in the albums section, as the photos this Friday will be there shortly. And soon I will fill in the photography section with the portraits and landscapes I have taken.

Hopefully there will also be another photoshoot with Natalie soon, as her last photos were taken about a month after she was born.

Soon enough I will be doing photography professionally!

To your continued success is absolutely one of my favorite signoffs for email signatures and letters. It just feels like it makes the letter more personal and makes one feel good.

Now to practice what I preach. Everytime I read this phrase or one similar in an email, online, or elsewhere, I always think to myself “that was really nice I should really be doing that too”. From now on, if you ever get see something I have written, it is my intention that it will have those magical words at the end.

Thanks to everyone who I have heard this phrase from, as I feel more inspired because of it. Now its time to pass it along to hopefully inspire someone else.

To your continued success,
